Greetings Brothers & Sisters,

I brings me great sorrow to inform you of the passing of a great icon, not only in Masonry but in life itself. Dr. Erwin R. Ponder was a mentor, a teacher, a preacher, and I can go on and on. But most of all he was a man of God, and a man who truly believed in helping his fellow brothers to be the best that they can be. Dr. Erwin R. Ponder was the Director of the Seton Hall Upward Bound Program and the Director of the Seton Hall Equal Opportunity Program. A member of Omega Psi Phi and the Past Grand Master of Garden State Grand Lodge. Dr. Erwin R. Ponder also is the Assistant Pastor of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Yes indeed, a true Icon has left us and he will be dearly missed by us all. Although Dr. Ponder was the Past Grand Master of Garden State Grand Lodge, he was around International Masons so much and he supported us so much that he practically was a member of Job Grand Lodge. Bro. Acey Moseley who is like an adopted son of Dr. Erwin Ponder will be performing the Burial Ceremony and we are asking all of International Masons - Brothers & Sisters to come out and support Bro. Acey Moseley and help us to send our brother home properly. The funeral arraignments are as follows:

All services will be held at St. John Community Baptist Church located at 1066 Bergen St., Newark, NJ.

WAKE: Thursday, Jan. 6, 2010 @ 6 - 9 PM.

BURIAL: CEREMONY: Starts @ 7 PM. Sharp! (Please be there prior to 7 PM.)

FUNERAL: Friday, Jan. 7 @ 10 AM.

I am sorry to inform you that the chain has been broken once again in the Eastern Stars. Sis. Margaret Simpson, a 30 year member of Star of Love Chapter No. 155 has passed away. Her services will be held at Mt. Herman Baptist Church located at 221 Nesbit Terrace, Irvington, NJ.

The viewing, memorial service and funeral is all together. The memorial Service will start at 7 PM, Dec 20th. so please get there by 6:15 PM. We are asking for all Sisters & Brothers who can come out and support our sister, to please come and help us send our sister home properly. Thank you all in advance for your cooperation.

This is on the corner of 18th Ave. & So. 10th St. Brothers & Sisters coming from South Jersey can take the Parkway to Springfield Ave. exit and come straight down Springfield Ave. to So. 10th St.

Our Illustrious Lewis McMillan Sr. was a amazingly great man and a great Mason. He has been a member of International Masons for over 45 plus years. He was a Past Master of Freestone Lodge No. 1. He was a dedicated member of Ezra Chapter No. 4. He also was a member of Hiram Abiff Encampment No. 2. Noble McMillan was a long time Shriner member of Salaam Temple No. 11. Ill. McMillan was a long time member of the Supreme Imperial Council of the 33rd Degree. Ill. Lewis McMillan was a very dedicated worker in the Marshals Council in the State of New Jersey. He was the 2nd Grand Marshal for Job Grand Lodge in the State of New Jersey. He is a Past President of the Marshals Council for the State of NJ. He is the Past National Vice President of the Marshals Council for International Masons. Ill. McMillan also was the Supreme Vice President of the Marshals Council for International Masons around the world. And none of these houses or titles come close to matching the love that this man had in his heart for International Masons. We have lost a truly good Mason. But even though he may not be with us anyone more, he will always be in our hearts & minds. And never be forgotten.
